Barry Waite

Chair, Communications and Media at Centennial College

Barry Waite is Academic Chair, Communications & Media at Toronto’s Centennial College. He assumed the role of chair in September 2014 after successfully leading the college’s award-winning public relations graduate certificate program for more than four years. He was also lead developer on the college’s Bachelor of Public Relations Management program.

Prior to joining Centennial College, Barry was a public relations practitioner with a 20 year career in the industry, including several years as Senior Vice President at Strategic Objectives, one of Canada’s leading public relations firms.

In addition to his current role, Barry is Chair of the Communications Work Group for the 2017 Invictus Games, and serves on the National Education Council of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). In April 2015 he received the Lois Marsh Award from CPRS Toronto for contribution to the public relations industry in Toronto. He recently completed his Master of Public Relations at Mount St. Vincent University.
